Celebrate Bemerton

Seven days of fun on Bemerton Heath will be culminating in a big celebration event at Sarum Academy on Saturday 13th July, 12pm – 4pm.

As the Academy prepares to unveil its new £15.5 million building we want to take the time to reflect, celebrate and say a fond farewell to the existing buildings, which have a long and proud history within the community.

On Saturday 13th July, the Academy, supported by the local community, will open its doors to a traditional family fun day with an historical twist and a definite air of celebration.  As well as all the traditional stalls associated with a family fun day, bouncy castle, exciting hands-on activities and workshops, food outlets and a programme of events, there will be a history exhibition, an opportunity for people to be part of a video diary telling stories and reminiscing about their time in the community, photo opportunities, a memory book and all sorts of other activities and opportunities to say a proper farewell – and maybe even the chance to graffiti a school wall (without a detention!).

With enquiries already coming in from all over the country, a special Facebook page has been set up to keep everyone up to date with the event –  It will also be advertised in the local press.  We anticipate it being a very popular event.

We are very keen for the emphasis to be on the Salisbury community and are therefore inviting local people, organisations and businesses to have a stall/stand.  You may want to sell local produce or goods which are made locally or you may want to run a traditional stall such as a tombola, raffle, face-painting, lucky-dip to raise funds for a local cause.  You may be a local artist looking for an opportunity to sell your work or a young person setting up a new enterprise.  Alternatively you might run an activity within the community and want to promote it by doing demonstrations or running workshops or by being part of the entertainment programme.

If you fit into one of these, or similar, categories and would like to take the opportunity of being part of our event please complete the attached Booking Form and return to the address below. Alternatively you can contact me, or my colleague Holly White, on 01722 342431 or email /
